ABOUT.

Luke Embden is a London-based graphic artist, muralist, illustrator, and Guinness World Record holder whose bold, instantly recognisable visual language has established him as one of the UK's leading contemporary graphic artists. Combining street art, freeform typography, and striking graphic expression, his work is characterised by intricate layers of line work, cryptic messages, iconic imagery, and vibrant colour.

A graduate of the London College of Communication (LCC), Embden has built an internationally recognised practice spanning contemporary art, design, and commercial collaboration. Inspired by his rural upbringing and influenced by urban culture, his work invites closer inspection, revealing subtle narratives, hidden words, and layered visual storytelling throughout each composition.

Constantly evolving his creative practice, Embden works across a diverse range of mediums including large-scale murals, limited-edition screen prints, fashion graphics, live art performances, and bespoke commissions. His vibrant aesthetic and instantly recognisable visual style have enabled collaborations with leading global brands, cultural institutions, and creative organisations. One of his most ambitious projects to date saw him transform the entire façade of the iconic NikeTown London flagship store on Oxford Street with a highly detailed illustrated mural, turning one of the capital's most recognisable retail landmarks into a monumental public artwork.

Known for his bold use of colour, dynamic pattern work, and signature freeform typography, Embden's work explores the relationship between consumer culture, public space, and visual communication. His distinctive imagery transforms everything from building façades and interiors to apparel, furniture, and found objects, creating immersive experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.

Alongside his commercial practice, Embden is passionate about community engagement and participatory art. He has delivered workshops across the UK for people of all ages and abilities, partnering with organisations including ParkLives, StreetGames, and numerous charitable initiatives. In 2026, he became a Guinness World Record holder through a large-scale collaborative mural project with SeeAbility, created beside Tower Bridge in London. The artwork involved more than 800 participants and was completed in under 48 hours, demonstrating the power of art to bring communities together.

Embden's passion for public interaction informs much of his live work, which he views as a form of performance art—responding to the energy, conversations, and environments around him. This approach has led to live painting performances and installations at events including Covent Garden London, Clerkenwell Design Week, SIBOS Singapore, and the Színes Város Street Art Festival in Budapest.
